The week began with preparation of paperwork for DRS2010. I hate travel paperwork. There was also paperwork for buying new equipment for the research lab — a few new PCs and upgrades to our qualitative research software.
I attended a PhD confirmation seminar on machine vision. I learned more about how the engineers here do their research than about machine vision.
There was marking this week. I think I read about 12 draft student reports. It wasn’t marking as such, more providing formative feedback. Some students thought that 9pt Helvetica Neue was an appropriate font size. Oh, the lulz.
An interesting meeting with and important project partner was good because it strengthened their perception of our contribution to the larger project. It was followed by a meeting with my PhD students (I say “my” — I’m their associate supervisor.)
I did a bit towards nudging journal paper along. A very small bit. This weekend and Monday. It will be done.
As always, teaching on Friday.
Now, can I please get my journal paper done?
